Ayah 77

Surah At-Tawba

So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie.﴿77﴾

Translation

So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie.

Simplified Tafsir

فكان جزاء صنيعهم وعاقبتهم أَنْ زادهم نفاقًا على نفاقهم، لا يستطيعون التخلص منه إلى يوم الحساب؛ وذلك بسبب إخلافهم الوعد الذي قطعوه على أنفسهم، وبسبب نفاقهم وكذبهم.
