Surah At-Tawba
And if they had intended to go forth, they would have prepared for it [some] preparation. But Allah disliked their being sent, so He kept them back, and they were told, "Remain [behind] with those who remain."﴿46﴾
Translation
And if they had intended to go forth, they would have prepared for it [some] preparation. But Allah disliked their being sent, so He kept them back, and they were told, "Remain [behind] with those who remain."
Simplified Tafsir
ولو أراد المنافقون الخروج معك -أيها النبي- إلى الجهاد لتأهَّبوا له بالزاد والراحلة، ولكن الله كره خروجهم فثَقُلَ عليهم الخروج قضاء وقدرًا، وإن كان أمرهم به شرعا، وقيل لهم: تخلفوا مع القاعدين من المرضى والضعفاء والنساء والصبيان.
