Ayah 106

Surah At-Tawba

And [there are] others deferred until the command of Allah - whether He will punish them or whether He will forgive them. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.﴿106﴾

Translation

And [there are] others deferred until the command of Allah - whether He will punish them or whether He will forgive them. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Simplified Tafsir

ومن هؤلاء المتخلفين عنكم -أيها المؤمنون- في غزوة (تبوك) آخرون مؤخرون؛ ليقضي الله فيهم ما هو قاض. وهؤلاء هم الذين ندموا على ما فعلوا، وهم: مُرارة بن الربيع، وكعب بن مالك، وهلال بن أُميَّة، إما يعذبهم الله، وإما يعفو عنهم. والله عليم بمن يستحق العقوبة أو العفو، حكيم في كل أقواله وأفعاله.
