Ayah 172
Surah Al-A'raaf
And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."﴿172﴾
Translation
And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."
Simplified Tafsir
واذكر -أيها النبي- إذ استخرج ربك أولاد آدم مِن أصلاب آبائهم، وقررهم بتوحيده بما أودعه في فطرهم من أنه ربهم وخالقهم ومليكهم، فأقروا له بذلك، خشية أن ينكروا يوم القيامة، فلا يقروا بشيء فيه، ويزعموا أن حجة الله ما قامت عليهم، ولا عندهم علم بها، بل كانوا عنها غافلين.
