Ayah 77

Surah Al-An'aam

And when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray."﴿77﴾

Translation

And when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray."

Simplified Tafsir

فلما رأى إبراهيم القمر طالعًا قال لقومه -على سبيل استدراج الخصم-: هذا ربي، فلما غاب، قال -مفتقرا إلى هداية ربه-: لئن لم يوفقني ربي إلى الصواب في توحيده، لأكونن من القوم الضالين عن سواء السبيل بعبادة غير الله تعالى.
