Ayah 27

Surah Al-An'aam

If you could but see when they are made to stand before the Fire and will say, "Oh, would that we could be returned [to life on earth] and not deny the signs of our Lord and be among the believers."﴿27﴾

Translation

If you could but see when they are made to stand before the Fire and will say, "Oh, would that we could be returned [to life on earth] and not deny the signs of our Lord and be among the believers."

Simplified Tafsir

ولو ترى -أيها الرسول- هؤلاء المشركين يوم القيامة لرأيت أمرًا عظيمًا، وذلك حين يُحْبَسون على النار، ويشاهدون ما فيها من السلاسل والأغلال، ورأوا بأعينهم تلك الأمور العظام والأهوال، فعند ذلك قالوا: ياليتنا نُعاد إلى الحياة الدنيا، فنصدق بآيات الله ونعمل بها، ونكون من المؤمنين.
