Surah Aal-i-Imraan
Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination.﴿28﴾
Translation

Simplified Tafsir
ينهى الله المؤمنين أن يتخذوا الكافرين أولياء بالمحبة والنصرة من دون المؤمنين، ومَن يتولهم فقد برِئ من الله، والله برِيء منه، إلا أن تكونوا ضعافًا خائفين فقد رخَّص الله لكم في مهادنتهم اتقاء لشرهم، حتى تقوى شوكتكم، ويحذركم الله نفسه، فاتقوه وخافوه. وإلى الله وحده رجوع الخلائق للحساب والجزاء.
