Surah At-Tawba
And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.﴿5﴾
Translation

Simplified Tafsir
فإذا انقضت الأشهر الأربعة التي أمَّنتم فيها المشركين، فأعلنوا الحرب على أعداء الله حيث كانوا، واقصدوهم بالحصار في معاقلهم، وترصدوا لهم في طرقهم، فإن رجعوا عن كفرهم ودخلوا الإسلام والتزموا شرائعه من إقام الصلاة وإخراج الزكاة، فاتركوهم، فقد أصبحوا إخوانكم في الإسلام، إن الله غفور لمن تاب وأناب، رحيم بهم.
