They had already desired dissension before and had upset matters for you until the truth came and the ordinance of Allah appeared, while they were averse.﴿48﴾

They had already desired dissension before and had upset matters for you until the truth came and the ordinance of Allah appeared, while they were averse.
Simplified Tafsir
لقد ابتغى المنافقون فتنة المؤمنين عن دينهم وصدهم عن سبيل الله من قبل غزوة (تبوك)، وكشف أمرهم، وصرَّفوا لك -أيها النبي- الأمور في إبطال ما جئت به، كما فعلوا يوم (أحد) ويوم (الخندق)، ودبَّروا لك الكيد حتى جاء النصر من عند الله، وأعز جنده ونصر دينه، وهم كارهون له.
