Surah Al-Anfaal
But why should Allah not punish them while they obstruct [people] from al-Masjid al- Haram and they were not [fit to be] its guardians? Its [true] guardians are not but the righteous, but most of them do not know.﴿34﴾
Translation
But why should Allah not punish them while they obstruct [people] from al-Masjid al- Haram and they were not [fit to be] its guardians? Its [true] guardians are not but the righteous, but most of them do not know.
Simplified Tafsir
وكيف لا يستحقُّون عذاب الله، وهم يصدون أولياءه المؤمنين عن الطواف بالكعبة والصلاة في المسجد الحرام؟ وما كانوا أولياء الله، إنْ أولياء الله إلا الذين يتقونه بأداء فرائضه واجتناب معاصيه، ولكن أكثر الكفار لا يعلمون؛ فلذلك ادَّعوا لأنفسهم أمرًا، غيرهم أولى به.
