Ayah 78

Surah Al-An'aam

And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allah.﴿78﴾

Translation

And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allah.

Simplified Tafsir

فلما رأى الشمس طالعة قال لقومه: هذا ربي، هذا أكبر من الكوكب والقمر، فلما غابت، قال لقومه: إني بريء مما تشركون من عبادة الأوثان والنجوم والأصنام التي تعبدونها من دون الله تعالى.
