Surah Al-Mujaadila
Those who pronounce thihar among you [to separate] from their wives - they are not [consequently] their mothers. Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them. And indeed, they are saying an objectionable statement and a falsehood. But indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving.﴿2﴾
Translation
Those who pronounce thihar among you [to separate] from their wives - they are not [consequently] their mothers. Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them. And indeed, they are saying an objectionable statement and a falsehood. But indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving.
Simplified Tafsir
الذين يُظاهرون منكم من نسائهم، فيقول الرجل منهم لزوجته: "أنت عليَّ كظهر أمي" -أي في حرمة النكاح- قد عصوا الله وخالفوا الشرع، ونساؤهم لَسْنَ في الحقيقة أمهاتهم، إنما هن زوجاتهم، ما أمهاتهم إلا اللائي ولدنهم. وإن هؤلاء المظاهِرين ليقولون قولا كاذبًا فظيعًا لا تُعرف صحته. وإن الله لعفو غفور عمَّن صدر منه بعض المخالفات، فتداركها بالتوبة النصوح.
