Surah Al-Mujaadila
They took their [false] oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allah, and for them is a humiliating punishment.﴿16﴾
Translation
They took their [false] oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allah, and for them is a humiliating punishment.
Simplified Tafsir
اتخذ المنافقون أيمانهم الكاذبة وقاية لهم من القتل بسبب كفرهم، ولمنع المسلمين عن قتالهم وأخذ أموالهم، فبسبب ذلك صدُّوا أنفسهم وغيرهم عن سبيل الله وهو الإسلام، فلهم عذاب مُذلٌّ في النار؛ لاستكبارهم عن الإيمان بالله ورسوله وصدِّهم عن سبيله.
