Surah Al-Hadid
The hypocrites will call to the believers, "Were we not with you?" They will say, "Yes, but you afflicted yourselves and awaited [misfortune for us] and doubted, and wishful thinking deluded you until there came the command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you concerning Allah.﴿14﴾
Translation
The hypocrites will call to the believers, "Were we not with you?" They will say, "Yes, but you afflicted yourselves and awaited [misfortune for us] and doubted, and wishful thinking deluded you until there came the command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you concerning Allah.
Simplified Tafsir
ينادي المنافقون المؤمنين قائلين: ألم نكن معكم في الدنيا، نؤدي شعائر الدين مثلكم؟ قال المؤمنون لهم: بلى قد كنتم معنا في الظاهر، ولكنكم أهلكتم أنفسكم بالنفاق والمعاصي، وتربصتم بالنبي الموت وبالمؤمنين الدوائر، وشككتم في البعث بعد الموت، وخدعتكم أمانيكم الباطلة، وبقيتم على ذلك حتى جاءكم الموت وخدعكم بالله الشيطان.
