Surah An-Nisaa
And indeed, there is among you he who lingers behind; and if disaster strikes you, he says, "Allah has favored me in that I was not present with them."﴿72﴾
Translation
And indeed, there is among you he who lingers behind; and if disaster strikes you, he says, "Allah has favored me in that I was not present with them."
Simplified Tafsir
وإنَّ منكم لنفرًا يتأخر عن الخروج لملاقاة الأعداء متثاقلا ويثبط غيره عن عمد وإصرار، فإن قُدِّر عليكم وأُصِبتم بقتل وهزيمة، قال مستبشرًا: قد حفظني الله، حين لم أكن حاضرًا مع أولئك الذين وقع لهم ما أكرهه لنفسي، وسرَّه تخلفه عنكم.
