Ayah 20

Surah An-Nisaa

But if you want to replace one wife with another and you have given one of them a great amount [in gifts], do not take [back] from it anything. Would you take it in injustice and manifest sin?﴿20﴾

Translation

But if you want to replace one wife with another and you have given one of them a great amount [in gifts], do not take [back] from it anything. Would you take it in injustice and manifest sin?

Simplified Tafsir

وإن أردتم استبدال زوجة مكان أخرى، وكنتم قد أعطيتم مَن تريدون طلاقها مالا كثيرًا مهرًا لها، فلا يحل لكم أن تأخذوا منه شيئًا، أتأخذونه كذبًا وافتراءً واضحًا؟
