Surah An-Nisaa
The repentance accepted by Allah is only for those who do wrong in ignorance [or carelessness] and then repent soon after. It is those to whom Allah will turn in forgiveness, and Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.﴿17﴾
Translation
The repentance accepted by Allah is only for those who do wrong in ignorance [or carelessness] and then repent soon after. It is those to whom Allah will turn in forgiveness, and Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.
Simplified Tafsir
إنَّما يقبل الله التوبة من الذين يرتكبون المعاصي والذنوب بجهل منهم لعاقبتها، وإيجابها لسخط الله -فكل عاص لله مخطئًا أو متعمِّدًا فهو جاهل بهذا الاعتبار، وإن كان عالمًا بالتحريم -ثم يرجعون إلى ربهم بالإنابة والطاعة قبل معاينة الموت، فأولئك يقبل الله توبتهم. وكان الله عليمًا بخلقه، حكيمًا في تدبيره وتقديره.
