Surah An-Nisaa
And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly", and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath", and We took from them a solemn covenant.﴿154﴾
Translation
And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly", and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath", and We took from them a solemn covenant.
Simplified Tafsir
ورفعنا فوق رؤوسهم جبل الطور حين امتنعوا عن الالتزام بالعهد المؤكد الذي أعطوه بالعمل بأحكام التوراة، وأمرناهم أن يدخلوا باب "بيت المقدس" سُجَّدًا، فدخلوا يزحفون على أستاههم، وأمرناهم ألا يَعْتَدُوا بالصيد في يوم السبت فاعتدَوا، وصادوا، وأخذنا عليهم عهدًا مؤكدًا، فنقضوه.
