Surah Az-Zumar
Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding.﴿9﴾
Translation
Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding.
Simplified Tafsir
أهذا الكافر المتمتع بكفره خير، أم من هو عابد لربه طائع له، يقضي ساعات الليل في القيام والسجود لله، يخاف عذاب الآخرة، ويأمُل رحمة ربه؟ قل -أيها الرسول-: هل يستوي الذين يعلمون ربهم ودينهم الحق والذين لا يعلمون شيئًا من ذلك؟ لا يستوون. إنما يتذكر ويعرف الفرق أصحاب العقول السليمة.
