Ayah 39

Surah Yaseen

And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk.﴿39﴾

Translation

And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk.

Simplified Tafsir

والقمرَ آية في خلقه، قدَّرناه منازل كل ليلة، يبدأ هلالا ضئيلا حتى يكمل قمرًا مستديرًا، ثم يرجع ضئيلا مثل عِذْق النخلة المتقوس في الرقة والانحناء والصفرة؛ لقدمه ويُبْسه.
