Surah Saba
And those before them denied, and the people of Makkah have not attained a tenth of what We had given them. But the former peoples denied My messengers, so how [terrible] was My reproach.﴿45﴾
Translation
And those before them denied, and the people of Makkah have not attained a tenth of what We had given them. But the former peoples denied My messengers, so how [terrible] was My reproach.
Simplified Tafsir
وكذَّب الذين من قبلهم كعاد وثمود رسلنا، وما بلغ أهل "مكة" عُشرَ ما آتينا الأمم السابقة من القوة، وكثرة المال، وطول العمر وغير ذلك من النعم، فكذبوا رسلي فيما جاؤوهم به فأهلكناهم، فانظر -أيها الرسول- كيف كان إنكاري عليهم وعقوبتي إياهم؟
