And [remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease said, "Allah and His Messenger did not promise us except delusion,"﴿12﴾

Simplified Tafsir
وإذ يقول المنافقون والذين في قلوبهم شك، وهم ضعفاء الإيمان: ما وعدنا الله ورسوله من النصر والتمكين إلا باطلا من القول وغرورًا، فلا تصدقوه.
