Surah Aal-i-Imraan
That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed.﴿44﴾
Translation
That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed.
Simplified Tafsir
ذلك الذي قصصناه عليك -أيها الرسول- من أخبار الغيب التي أوحاها الله إليك، إذ لم تكن معهم حين اختلفوا في كفالة مريم أيُّهم أحق بها وأولى، ووقع بينهم الخصام، فأجْرَوْا القرعة لإلقاء أقلامهم، ففاز زكريا عليه السلام بكفالتها.
