Surah Al-Qasas
And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors.﴿58﴾
Translation
And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors.
Simplified Tafsir
وكثير من أهل القرى أهلكناهم حين أَلْهَتهم معيشتهم عن الإيمان بالرسل، فكفروا وطغَوْا، فتلك مساكنهم لم تُسكن من بعدهم إلا قليلا منها، وكنا نحن الوارثين للعباد نميتهم، ثم يرجعون إلينا، فنجازيهم بأعمالهم.
