Surah Al-Furqaan
They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."﴿18﴾
Translation
They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."
Simplified Tafsir
قال المعبودون من دون الله: تنزيهًا لك- يا ربنا- عَمَّا فعل هؤلاء، فما يصحُّ أن نَتَّخِذ سواك أولياء نواليهم، ولكن متعتَ هؤلاء المشركين وآباءهم بالمال والعافية في الدنيا، حتى نسوا ذكرك فأشركوا بك، وكانوا قومًا هلكى غلب عليهم الشقاء والخِذْلان.
