Surah Al-Anbiyaa
But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? So it is they who will overcome?﴿44﴾
Translation
But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? So it is they who will overcome?
Simplified Tafsir
لقد اغترَّ الكفار وآباؤهم بالإمهال لِمَا رأوه من الأموال والبنين وطول الأعمار، فأقاموا على كفرهم لا يَبْرحونه، وظنوا أنهم لا يُعذَّبون وقد غَفَلوا عن سُنَّة ماضية، فالله ينقص الأرض من جوانبها بما ينزله بالمشركين مِن بأس في كل ناحية ومِن هزيمة، أيكون بوسع كفار "مكة" الخروج عن قدرة الله، أو الامتناع من الموت؟
