Surah Al-Baqara
And when it is said to him, "Fear Allah," pride in the sin takes hold of him. Sufficient for him is Hellfire, and how wretched is the resting place.﴿206﴾
Translation
And when it is said to him, "Fear Allah," pride in the sin takes hold of him. Sufficient for him is Hellfire, and how wretched is the resting place.
Simplified Tafsir
وإذا نُصِح ذلك المنافق المفسد، وقيل له: اتق الله واحذر عقابه، وكُفَّ عن الفساد في الأرض، لم يقبل النصيحة، بل يحمله الكبر وحميَّة الجاهلية على مزيد من الآثام، فَحَسْبُه جهنم وكافيته عذابًا، ولبئس الفراش هي.
